Shipping Policy Change Announcement

To our Valued Dealers and Customers,

As more consumers are doing their shopping online, we’ve seen a significant increase in the demand for orders to be drop-shipped to residences. We understand the customer’s request for the perceived convenience, but it frequently comes with additional and unforeseen surcharges to the shipper. As of September 1, 2018, all residential drop-ship orders will incur an additional fee for LTL shipments of $250. If the order is shipped to the Dealer or a place of business, standard Flat-Rate shipping prices will be applied with no additional fees.

Due to the size and weight of our products, our preferred shipping method is via FedEx LTL Freight with Flat Rate pricing. This helps to guarantee proper handling and care for each order in transit and delivery. FedEx charges the shipper a “Residential Delivery Fee” and a “Liftgate Fee” resulting in the additional $250 surcharge on every residential delivery. We have looked at alternate carriers to alleviate this financial burden, but we would still need to pass down the cost for labor and materials in building custom crates for each order negating any savings.

To be clear, the above only effects residential shipping. There will still be small instances where we need to ship outside FedEx, such as international shipping and packages weighing more than FedEx’s Flat Rate pricing.

We have worked with FedEx to develop an alternative to residential shipping or picking up at the dealer. Instead, we can arrange the order to be delivered to the nearest FedEx location from the customer’s home, where the shipment then can be held for pickup. By holding the package at the local FedEx, it promises a secure delivery to the customer while avoiding the LTL Residential Fee and the Liftgate Fee, saving your customer $250.00 on shipping.  

Another benefit to this method is that LTL Freight from FedEx requires to contact the customer prior to delivery and make an appointment of delivery. Therefore requiring your customer to be home for an allotted time for delivery. The new method will alleviate this issue.
